screw earth science, barber school here i come
so today, randomly alex said he was going to shave his hair off, which hasn't been cut in over a year i believe. and i said, i'll do it, and of course he said ok. so after a deliciously disgusting dinner at chartwells, consisting of pizza and a bagel i grabbed rob's safety scissors and started hacking away at this mass of hair. i may have forgot to mention that i was shaving his head into a mohawk. so a little while and an almost full grocery bag full of hair later, alex has a mohawk. i shaved the actual mohawk a little shorter then i wanted, but hair grows. so if you see alex at all say, "alex! holy shit! what did you do to your hair?! holy crap! wow!" real loud and obnoxious like, because he hasn't not (double negative intended) heard that from everyone already. i'm bored.

hallelujah, new slang, here we go ...in that order
gold teeth and a curse for this town were all in my mouth.
only, i don't know how they got out, dear.
turn me back into the pet that i was when we met.
i was happier then with no mind-set.

and if you'd 'a took to me like
a gull takes to the wind.
well, i'd 'a jumped from my tree
and i'd a danced like the king of the eyesores
and the rest of our lives would 'a fared well.

new slang when you notice the stripes, the dirt in your fries.
hope it's right when you die, old and bony.
dawn breaks like a bull through the hall,
    never should have called
but my head's to the wall and i'm lonely.

and if you'd 'a took to me like
a gull takes to the wind.
well, i'd 'a jumped from my tree
and i'd a danced like the kind of the eyesores
and the rest of our lives would 'a fared well.

god speed all the bakers at dawn may they all cut their thumbs,
and bleed into their buns 'till they melt away.

i'm looking in on the good life i might be doomed never to find.
without a trust or flaming fields am i too dumb to refine?
and if you'd 'a took to me like
well i'd a danced like the queen of the eyesores
and the rest of our lives would 'a fared well.

    elliot smith, 1969-2003
if you've been checking my info at all this week, you will have seen r.i.p. and lots of elliot smith quotes... well in case you haven't heard, one of my favorite songwriters committed suicide on tuesday, and it's put me in a very melancholy mood all week, as well as lots of elliot smith coming out of my speakers.

so here's what you're going to do...

right click on my screen name on your buddy list and go to get file. my whole music folder will come up and you then click elliot smith and download it and listen to it, because it's excellent music. (if you're not on my buddy list just IM and then i'll add you and you can get it) yes, i'm spreading the word of the under-appreciated songwriter after his passing, and now everyone will realize what a genius he was and be sorry for his passing...but better late then never to get turned on to good music.

"everything i used to be will pass away and then you'll see
that all i want now is happiness for you and me."

    sunday morning
well...that's all i'm going to say.

i like it when i find a song and have about a two week affair with it. so most of this journal thing will be me be drunk and then me putting the lyrics to songs that i like (not necessarily portraying how i feel) but that just catch me as being excellent songs.

    so here's number 1

    she's in the kitchen
    crying by the oven
it seems she really loved him

    he's so drunk he's
    passed out in the Dartsun
it's parked out in the hot sun
in the saddest vacant lot in all the world

    boldly going
    where he rarely knows
but he'll miss her when he goes

    what a shame
as she drifts out of reach
    while he's still drunk asleep
in the saddest vacant lot in all the world

    emo yes, excellent yes.
    good day.
